Poplar High School

Poplar High School is a high school (grades 9–12) in the small town of Poplar
, Roosevelt County, Montana
.
In 2007 it had 200 plus students and 25 teachers. Most if not all of the students are enrolled members of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Reservation. Most of the racial makeup for the students are Native American mostly Sioux, Assinibione,Chippewa, or Cree.
The Principal of Poplar High School is Fred Hofman.
State Champions: 1996–1997, 1997–1998, 1998–1999
Runner-up: 2003–2004, 2004–2005, 2007–2008
Third Place: 2000–2001, 2001–2002, 2006–2007
Poplar is also known for their successful boys basketball program as well. Poplar is the only school in Montana history to have state titles in three different classes.

The wrestling program is a success as well. Poplar holds 7 individual state championships

Sports
Poplar has had some of the most successful boys sports programs in Montana. The most successful program that Poplar offers is Cross Country. The boys team is the most successful in the past decade coming back with some form of a state title.State Champions: 1996–1997, 1997–1998, 1998–1999

Alumni
- Richard Dionne was a professional basketball player in the CBA. Dionne was the first Native American to ever play in the CBA and was also a player for the Yakama Sun Kings which is owned by the Yakama Indian nation. Dionne was a 6'5 guard during his tenure with the Sun Kings.
- Scott McGowan was an Olympic level athlete once considered to compete in the Olympic games at Athens Greece. McGowan is the first and only Montanan to ever run a sub 4:00 minute mile. He is also the only Native American to ever win a National Title in any major track and field championship. He won the 2005 USA indoor track and field meet winning the 1500 meter race in a time of 3:44:06. Currently McGowan is now back living in Poplar not running due to a hip injury.
- Yvonne Dehner was a former Miss Montana pageant winner and a semi-finalist in the Miss USA pageant contest.
