The first class graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1891 and was composed of six women.

Knowledge Bowl

PTHS took the 27th annual 1A State Knowledge Bowl title in a thrilling come-from-behind final round on Saturday, March 27, 2010. This year's competition featured the eighteen top 1A schools in the state, all of whom had qualified for State by virtue of their finishes in regional competitions.

Athletics

PTHS is a class 1A school in the Olympic League.
The Redskins recent State Championship came in bowling in 2004. Also, boy's gymnastics finished 4th in 2005.
The 2007-2008 Redskins boys basketball team won the Class 2A/3A Olympic League championship with a 15-1 league record and a .5-1 regular season mark. They lost the Class 2A West Central District title, losing the team's first state berth since 2002.
Port Townsend advanced to the state semisemifinals before finishing in 146th place with a 3-23 overall season record.
