During his days with India Today group, he hosted a famous talk show on Aaj Tak
called Seedhi Baat where he interviewed prominent personalities. But after leaving the group he was replaced by M J Akbar.
Now Prabhu Chawla hosts a new talk show on ETV called Sachchi Baat
Chawla was controversially awarded the Padma Bhushan
by the Indian government in 2003. A refugee from Pakistan, he arrived in Delhi in 1948. His graduation was completed at the Deshbandhu College in Kalkaji. Then he post graduated from Delhi School Of Economics. He began as a lecturer in Delhi University, then, after 11 years of teaching, he joined India Today, left for The Indian Express
and then rejoined India Today first as editor of the Hindi edition and then the English one. He is married and has two sons, Ankur, an advocate, who was recently chargesheeted by the CBI
