. The paper is published from Andhra Pradesh, India. It started as a daily news paper in the year 1981 with Vijayawada as the centre. Currently it is being published with 9 centres (or editions) at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati (city), Khammam, Kurnool, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam and Karimnagar. It has got a network of over 100 primary news gathering centers across the state.

Prajasakti,in comparison with Vishalandhra (another newspaper which is run to spread somewhat similar ideology and owned by another communist political party (CPI)) has relatively larger circulation. On the 20th anniversary of Prajasakti, it has gone online and came much nearer to all communist sympathizers.

Prajasakti is committed to the cause of oppressed people. At its very inception it was with the peasants struggle in 1981. Prajasakti has always spearheaded the propaganda for secular. It has been criticized by both Hindu and Muslim Communal fanatics for its stand on Communalism. It strives for democratic values, and upholds the ardent struggle for democracy and a just living waged against the one sided imperialist globalization. However, it is criticized by many for supporting the liberalization policies practiced by Budhadeb Government and the last years of Jyoti Basu governments in West Bengal. It was also criticized for being silent about the unholy connection between Corporate Lobbyists and political leaders like Budhadeb and Nirupam Sen. It comes out with a materialistic analysis on all contemporary, national and international issues. Prajasakti stands for the projection of all the just values and relentlessly fights anti peoples policies, corruption, communalism and many issues that affect the life of poor and middle class adversely. It also neglects the news items with regard to the corrupt activities carried out by section of the party activists.
