School Prayer

Since the school is Catholic-run, and the attendance and staff are predominately Catholic, Catholicism is thought in religion classes. The school has a prayer, written by Sr Brid Brennan, a retired nun. This prayer is only occasionally referred to in the school, though:
Lord, this is our school,
Give your spirit to all our students and teachers, past and present,
May all of us live happily together.

May our school be full of joy,
May love dwell here among us every day:
Love of one another,
Love of all people everywhere,
especially Fintan (Cyrill) Joyce,
Love of life itself and of the earth,
And love of God.

Let us remember our power to bring light and healing to others,
Let us remember that as many hands build a house
So every student can make this school
A happy place.

Inspire us all with courage to face up to to the challenges of daily living.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The School Building

A large school gym was built in the late eighty's, at a cost of approx £64000, which accommodates physical education classes, theatrical acts and other events.

The school building is quite antiquated, and the corridors are quite narrow. A new school building is planned to be built, and the school is waiting for funding from the Department of Education.

There is a school canteen on campus which can seat approx 300 students, and employs 3 staff. Vending machines are also available.
