Pressure 1 was a short-lived game show
targeted at teenagers and preteens. It aired in syndication for one season, from Fall 1999 to Spring 2000. The series replaced Click
, a computer-themed game created by Merv Griffin
, and aired (as with Click) in an hour-long block with its parent show Peer Pressure
(renamed Pressure 2).
Despite the title, Pressure 1 was the only show airing new episodes; Peer Pressure had only made one season (1997–1998), with the 1999-2000 season being the second time these episodes had been edited.

Gameplay
Unlike its parent show, Pressure 1 was based on general trivia. The only similarity between the two, aside from the contestants playing, was the shared theme song.Pressure Cooker
After the end of general play, the two finalists would face off in a "lightning round" (known as the "Pressure Cooker") in which they had to answer five questions in 60 seconds. Whoever answered them in the fastest time, or whoever answered the most questions correctly, won the game.
