Princeton Community High School was opened in the early 1970s to replace old Princeton High School, which had become crowded due to the public school consolidation of the previous few decades. The old Princeton High School building still exists and is now used as Princeton Community Middle School.
Construction on a new High School is expected to get underway by late spring 2010. The new high school is expected to be able to use trapped methane gas located beneath the construction site located on Indiana 65
right behind the football field of the current high school. Once this building is complete Princeton Community Middle School wil move into the current Princeton Community High School campus resulting in a centralized Middle-High School Campus.

This is Gibson County's first basketball title of either gender and third overall between Princeton and county rival Gibson Southern High School
with their two softball titles. PCHS's 33-0 perfect streak came to an end on December 18, 2009 at the hands of Vincennes Lincoln in an 74-67 overtime loss to the Alices at Vincennes Lincoln's Alice Arena.
As of December 13, 2009, Princeton was ranked 6th in the IBCA all-state poll.

2008-09 Basketball
After going 22 for 25 in the previous 2 years, the 2008-09 season PCHS's Boys Basketball team completed a 29-0 Perfect Season and is currently ranked #1 in Class 3A and won their first sectional in almost 10 years and their first regional in 26 years.
