The Prix Imprudence serves as a trial for the first fillies' Classics of the European flat season. Seven winners have subsequently achieved victory in the 1,000 Guineas Stakes, most recently Natagora in 2008. The last to win the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches

The event is named after Imprudence, a successful French-trained filly whose victories included three Classics in 1947. It was established in 1949, the same year as the equivalent race for colts, the Prix DjebelPrix Djebel
