Application requirements

Students must also live in St. Louis City/County, St. Charles City/County, or Jefferson County. Students entering 1st through 8 may apply.

Curriculum

PEGS provides:
  • Accelerated learning through curriculum compacting
  • Training in critical and creative thinking skills
  • Creative projects
  • Special assistance with social/emotional growth
  • Mentors for learning enrichment and extension
  • Mainstreaming for fine arts/physical education

Selection

Students will be selected based on intelligence tests, classroom examinations, and academic performance. In terms of intelligence tests, a compound score of 161+ is required on the Stanford-Binet 5.
