Local Plan. It would occupy the site of the former coal
sidings of the closed Earley
power station
. As at November 2011, the station had not been built.

(ATOC) produced a report called 'Connecting Communities' in which it was suggested that Wantage Road railway station
would be a viable station to re-open during any expansion of the rail network. The new station would be named either "Wantage and Grove" or "Wantage Parkway".
