As of 2005, the municipality had a total population of 8,514, with 3,431 in the municipal seat. Only five years later, at the 2010 census, these figures had declined dramatically to 4,799 for the municipality, and 2,128 for the municipal seat.

Práxedis G. Guerrero has a very low population that rarely grows. In fact, much of the population, above all those of school age, leave for nearby Ciudad Juárez
