, which ended publication on Aug. 29, 2008 after an almost 49-year run. Daily Sun reporting staff won awards from the Overseas Press Club and the Puerto Rico Photographers Association in 2009. During that same year, publications such as Editor & Publisher and The Miami Herald ran stories about the nonprofit newspaper. In June 2010, most of its reporters quit after failing to reach an agreement with the co-op board, controlled mostly by circulation staff, over pay and control of the newspaper. Reporters had gone several weeks without being paid. The newspaper continues to be published with a minimal staff.
