Puerto Rico Engineers and Surveyors Association

The Puerto Rico Engineers and Surveyors Association (Colegio de Ingenieros y Agrimensores de Puerto Rico), founded in 1938, is one of many professional "colegios" created by law to associate through compulsory membership the practitioners of all professions, except for lawyers, whose Bar Association is the only voluntary membership "colegio" in the United States' largest territory.
Originally named the "Puerto Rico Engineers, Architects and Surveyors Association" until the "Puerto Rico Architects and Landscape Architects Association" was created in the late 1970's, also by legislation, the organization's headquarters building is located in the Baldrich neighborhood of San Juan, Puerto Rico
. The Association is subdivided in several "institutes", one for surveyors and others for six engineering specialties, the largest of which is the one that unites all civil engineer

In addition to fostering the advancement of the engineering and surveying professions, the association has an active sports program for its members and offspring.
The association is currently headed by Engineer Miguel Torres Díaz.
