Quartermaine family
Encyclopedia
The Quartermaine family is a very wealthy and prestigious fictional family on the ABC
soap opera
, General Hospital
. The Quartermaines have been a staple on General Hospital
since their introduction in the late 1970s.
The Quartermaines, due to their dysfunctional tendencies, are comically notorious for their annual attempts to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, only, for one reason or other, to have it fail and so they always end up ordering take out pizza for their dinner. This, and their constant squabbling, have made the Quartermaines the show's much needed comedy relief.
The Quartermaines saw a diminishing lack of screentime from 2006-2010, but newly appointed headwriter Garin Wolf brought them back to the frontburner during the summer of 2011, and intends on keeping them there.
