History

The organisation was founded in 1966 to protect and promote the human rights and freedoms of Queenslanders. Because of what was happening to Queenslanders during the protests of the Vietnam war

, it was felt that there was a need for a civil liberties group to be formed.

On the 29th of March in 1967, the first public AGM was held and from that time to the present the organisation has worked to promote civil liberties.
