 for the Literacy Volunteers of Chicago. It was published in 1987 and all the proceeds went to aid the LVOC.

The comic included eight different shorties, all independent comics. They included;

The different comic characters were sent on missions or quests to find various artifacts that were lost by movers (they go for a meal and the truck is gone). So after their boss freaks out he sends for real heroes to recover the items.

The idea behind all of these was to give new readers a hint at the various classic stories they may have been missing out on.

The original cover price of this comic was $2.00 and this was the only issue produced in this series. But there was another comic put out by the Literacy Volunteers of Chicago titled Word Warriors which featured the characters Streetwolf, Jon Sable
