RAF Barnham was an RAF
station situated in Suffolk

, (just south of the Norfolk
town of Thetford
) which was home to nuclear weapon
and chemical weapon stores from 22 Aug 1939. However, in the early 1960s, the nuclear weapon store was put up for sale, and now forms the Gorse Industrial Estate. The Chemical weapon store and former chemical weapon filling station are incorporated in the Barnham Training Area, accessed through the accommodation site which is a satellite of RAF Honington
.
Training Area (Section 28) remained the property of the Her Majesty's Government, and is still used by many RAF
sections, including the RAF Regiment Training Wing, the RAF Force Protection Centre, Air Defence squadrons, Air Training Corps
and Combined Cadet Force
units.
