History

Rabat American School was founded in 1962 as a K-8 school to meet the needs of Americans affiliated with U.S./Chinese embassy agencies and/or private companies. A ninth grade was added in 1974. Grades ten, eleven, and twelve were added in 1978. The IB program was added in 2005.

. Facilities include four computer labs, six science labs, two libraries, an auditorium, a sports field, a gymnasium and two swimming pools. The school continues to expand today with the recent completion of a new math room.

Annual tuition rates are as follows: PK (half-day): $5,190; PK (full-day): $9,720; Kdg. (full-day) $13,925; grades l-5: $17,055; grades 6-8: $19,835; and grades 9-12: $19,975. There is a one-time registration fee of $7,500 payable on enrollment, beginning with kindergarten. There is a bus fee for round-trip $930 and one-way $790, and an application fee of $550, deductible from tuition fees. These fees are payable in U.S. dollars or in Moroccan dirhams for Moroccan citizens only. (All fees are quoted in U.S. dollars)
