. The movie was a hit.

The film began with two out-of-work musicians (Rishi Kapoor and Paintal) who witnessed a murder, and were spotted by the villains. In order to save themselves, they decided to disguise themselves as two girls and hopped on to a train to Kashmir with other girls on a singing band, where they met Neetu Singh, Bindoo and Asrani. The plot twisted when a man fell in love with Paintal, and Rishi Kapoor tried to impress Neetu Singh by being an oil tycoon. Eventually the villains found them and the lies were caught, and the lovers were finally together... even Paintal and Rajindernath.

The film is important because of the first exposure to same-sex love in Hindi films that was taken on a light-hearted manner, and the ideas of sex and gender became quite confused; in the end the final conclusion was "Nobody's perfect!" and love was all there was, it did not matter what one's gender was.
