Career

Rahul Aggarwal started his career at Fore Systems in 1998 and then worked at Redback Networks where he was the primary MPLS architect on the SE800 platform. While at Redback he co-invented Point-to-multipoint MPLS RSVP-TE. P2MP MPLS TE was the stepping stone in MPLS Multicast development. Rahul Aggarwal joined Juniper Networks in 2003 and continued to pioneer P2MP RSVP-TE which grew into RFC 4875 that he co-edited.

He has significant innovations in the area of multicast in BGP/MPLS VPNs which are being standardized in the IETF. He has been granted several patents in the area of multicast in BGP/MPLS VPNs

He is also the co-author of multiple other IETF Internet drafts and RFCs in the areas of MPLS, IP Routing, VPNs and VPLS.

Education

He received a B.E. in Electronics and Communication from Indian Institute of Technology,
Roorkee. He received his M.S. in Computer Science from University of
Minnesota in 1998.
