Railways of Germany was formed in 2005 by railway enthusiasts, Alan Rees and Tim Hale, who wanted to encourage the free sharing of information and concepts that allowed members "to achieve a modelling outcome using the information that has been posted on the forum."The concept was to provide a free access to all enthusiasts of the Railways of Germany to exchange information and to encompass all aspects of building a German model railway, from inspiration to fruition.
