, Rajula had a population of appro. more than 80,393. Males constituted 51% of the population and females 49%. Rajula has an average literacy rate of 64%, higher than the national average of 59.5%, with male literacy at 72% and female, 55%. In Rajula, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Short History

Rajula was a small village protected by darbars garashiya and developed mainly by bania kapol community. most of the educational, cultrual, religious and medical institutions were started and financed by kapol community. Gardens, lake, wells, bathing spots, smashan bhoomi, dharamshalas and gaushalas were initially started by kapol community and now all the communities have joined their hands together and started such constructive activities for the benefit of the citizen.

Kumbhnath Sukhnath temple

Kumbhnath Sukhnath temple is situated near Rajula. The history of the temple says that it is an old temple of Shiva

 and that the statue of Shiva was made by Bhima and Yudhishthira. Fairs are generally organised on the festivals of Satam atham and Janmashthami.
These temples are situated at the bank of river known as "ghano". It is a tributery of main river dhaterwadi. there are many other temples like : bhidbhanjan, ram mandir, goverdhannathji ni haveli, samudrimataji mandir, sanyas ashram, gayatrijinu mandir, holia hanumanji nu mandir,ambama nu mandir, sankheshwarimataji mandir, satnam pan hous, etc.
Originally rajula was spread between dholio dunger and piriyo dungar but now it has spread much beyond that and its boundaries expanded from all sides.
There is a beautiful small lake towards western side of the town.

There are many primary schools and bal mandirs. Gandhi mandir -an bal mandir is managed by 'shri rajula seva mandal'. there is high school named after and known as 'shri jivanlal anandaji sanghavi high school'. there are separate schools, colleges and hostels for girls as well as for coeducation. there is nice 'khadi gramodhyog bhavan'. rajula has big market yard facility.
There are dawoodi bohra who have contributed a lot in development.

The temple is on the bank of river dhaterwadi. There is fine kund of water between river and temple where people take holy bath.

Transportation

The city is well connected to other major cities of Gujarat such as Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Surat and Bhavnagar etc. by Bus services operated by private and state-owned transport corporations. Rajula is situated on the national highway No. 8 E. This highway connects Bhavnagar with Somnath.
The city is well connected with rest of the country by railways, bus transport and sea transport. Pipavav port is fast developing and very safe and busy port. cements, minerals and chemicals are exported from this port. Shipyard is also being developed for ship breaking as well as ship building activities.

Economy

The city is well known also for its stone mines, the stone and its products is exported to many places in the country. Its economy mainly depends on the industries,agriculture, crops such as groundnut, cotton, and onion is popular among the farmers.
