Rampura Phul is a city and a municipal committee in Bathinda district
in the India

. It is located on Patiala-Bathinda State Highway (No. 12). It named so because it is located in between two villages Rampura & Phul Town. Phul Town serves as a Tehsil
for villages in nearby area. City is main market for all surrounding villages and education center, since many students from villages come here for education.
Rampura was founded by Rama Phulka(Ram Chand), the son of Chaudhari Phul, presently its Rampura Village on southern side of National Highway and Market town Of Patiala Mandi on southern side of railway line was build later in 1930.
The Train Station was built in 1918 and market towns were established on each side where the common boundaries of territories of Rampura and Phul belonging to Patiala and Nabha Princely state respectively meet.The boundary walls of market town of Phul Mandi on Northern side of railway station (under Nabha princely state) had FOUR Gates which were closed before dark and were guarded by Police to protect rich merchants. The residents have to plan their activities accordingly to reach town before dark.
The Rampura Mandi was built by Patiala estate in late 1930s on the other side of the rail road track but it was bit too late to rival Phul Mandi on the other side.It had his own wall and gates.Most of the shops and houses were empty till 1940s and rent was negligible in Rampura Mandi.Though Nabha State was small princely state but it used early intensive efforts to settle merchants also. Phul mandi represented much of Rajas assets and was gateway to his Ancestral town Phul,whereas Patiala state though was big but had another big markets of Sirhind,Bathinda,Patiala so neglected the development of Rampura Mandi
THE TWO MARKET TOWNS of PHUL MANDI AND RAMPURA MANDI ARE CALLED RAMPURA PHUL
After Independence in 1947, the town of Rampura Phul was in the Barnala District of PEPSU(The Patiala and East Punjab States Union (PEPSU)) and it was called Phul Mandi. But in 1954, it was transferred to the Bathinda District of Punjab.
, Rampura Phul had a population of 42,820. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Rampura Phul has an average literacy rate of 66%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 70%, and female literacy is 61%. In Rampura Phul, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Patiala has opened a college named University College as a part of Punjabi University Neighbourhood Campus, Rampura Phul (Phul-Mehraj) on May 31, 2005 by converting it from Tapasavi
Puran Dass Ji Malwa College (known in area as TPD malwa collage). There are 2 girls college also in the town named Shaheed Smark College and Sarswati College. In addition there are several schools mainly Bharatiya model Senior Secondary School, St. Xavier High School, DOON Public School, Modern Secular Public School, Saravhitkari Vidya Mandir, Arya Samaj School and few government schools. St. Xavier's High School is run by a group of fathers from Goa belonging to the Pillar's society of Goa.

History
It is a town located between two villages of Rampura and Phul and hence its name Rampura Phul.These are the twin towns Rampura and Phul, part of the town was founded by Phul, the ancester of the Phulkian family, 1827 A.D. Phul was earlier a part of the Nabha State. It was regularly built and divided into 8 agwars. Its wall is octagonal, studded with pakka gate ways. The fort at Phul was constructed by ChaudhriPhul. Even in 1904, there existed a Vernacular Middle School at Phul(Chottian Village).
