Hemant Singh received an education at the Doon School and at Hindu College, Delhi University, from which institution he took a BA in 1971. He ascended the Dholpur gadi in 1969, but was derecognized as a ruler by the Indira Gandhi

Present Life

In 1973, Hemant Singh settled permanently at Panchsheel Park in Delhi, and on 17 May 2007, handed over the Dholpur palaces, lands and state jewellery to the care of his son.
