Randol Alan Bass

Randol Alan Bass is an American composer and arranger, best known for his "Gloria", "Casey at the Bat", and "The Night Before Christmas". He has written over 200 compositions for orchestra, 50 works for chorus, 300 arrangements, and over 100 transcriptions for wind ensemble.
His works can be heard on RCA, Dellos, and Kodanja Records. He lives in Austin, Texas.

Since the late 1970s, Bass' compositions have included a Christmas cantata, Magnificat, over a dozen works for chorus and orchestra, and over 100 transcriptions for wind band.
In 1996, he toured with the Dallas Symphony and Chorus on their Israeli tour, performing Mahler’s Symphony #8 under Zubin Mehta
. In 2000, he performed as solo pianist with the Coast Guard Academy Band in New London, CT in his own wind transcription of Ernst von Dohnanyi’s Variations on a Nursery Tune.
He was the founder of the Austin Symphonic Band (1982) and its music director for four years. He is the music director and conductor for the Metropolitan Winds of Dallas.
His works can be heard on RCA, Dellos, and Kodanja Records. He lives in Austin, Texas.
