Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone

The Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone Authority (RAKFTZ) is one of the "free zones" of the United Arab Emirates
(U.A.E.). It is located in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah in the northernmost part of the U.A.E., 45 minutes by road from Dubai
. It was established in May 2000 by an Emiri Decree from Ras Al Khaimah's ruler His Highness Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad al-Qassimi
, with His Highness Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qassimi as its Chairman.
RAK FTZ has five parks in Ras Al Khaimah – Business Park, Industrial Park, Technology Park, Aviation Park and Academy Zone. It also has representative offices in Turkey, India, Germany, and USA and is the first free zone to offer business centre as well as innovation and promotion centre facilities in four locations in the UAE.
The RAK FTZ Business Park consists of five buildings – BC 1 to 4 and the Administration Building. The Business Park is situated in the heart of Ras Al Khaimah’s Business district.
The Industrial Park
The Industrial Park is located along the Ras Al Khaimah coastal road approximately 18 km north of Ras Al Khaimah and immediately adjacent to Hulaylah Island. The park is about 6 km from Ras Al Khaimah's Saqr Port, covering an area of 128 hectares. It is developed for heavy industries and warehousing, and incorporates energy supply. The park’s facilities include on-site employee accommodations, Customs Office, Operation Supportive Services Centre and other administrative support and service centres.
Al Ghayl Industrial Park: Located south of Ras Al Khaimah, Covering an area of 223 hectares, it is for heavy industries.
The Technology Park
Located South of Ras Al Khaimah, the Technology Park enjoys close proximity to Dubai via the Emirates Road
and Ras Al Khaimah International Airport
. Covering an area of 100 hectares, it is located opposite Al Hamra Village and Resort. It is situated in a rapidly expanding area devoted to light industries and automated manufacturing and capital intensive quality lifestyle projects.
The Aviation Park
Located at the Ras Al Khaimah International Airport
, covering an area of 75,000 square metres, the Aviation Park is for specialised Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations.
The Academy Zone (Education Park)
The Academy Zone houses educational organisations which offer academic programmes to the RAK and broader UAE communities. The main buildings (Academy Zone 1 & 2) are located in the vicinity of the RAK FTZ Business Park. Some educational organisations established under the free zone operate from separate campuses at assigned locations in Ras Al Khaimah.
The RAK FTZ India Office in Mumbai
officially began its activities in August 2005, making RAK FTZ the first ever UAE free zone to open a liaison office in India. The majority of RAK FTZ’s clients come from India.
Turkey
RAK Free Trade Zone’s Turkey Liaison Office was established in December 2007. It is located in one of the most prestigious locations of Istanbul
