Ready, Set, Learn! was a preschool block that aired on TLC
from October 14, 1996 to September 29, 2008, and Discovery Kids
from October 1996 to October 8, 2010.
The block was initially hosted by children's entertainer Rory Zuckerman, who was billed as simply "Rory". In 1996, Discovery Kids
began to air its shows in its schedule.
From 1996 to 2003, the Discovery Kids block was known as "Discovery Mini Kids", while the TLC block was known as "TLC Mini Kids".
On February 24, 2003, Ready Set Learn introduced Paz the Penguin, who was seen in the block's official logo. TLC
, as part of their continuing transformation into a pop-culture reality television channel, removed the block on September 29, 2008, and replaced it with repeats of their primetime programs; as a result, the Ready, Set, Learn block began being shown exclusively on Discovery Kids
.
On October 10, 2010, Discovery Kids
was relaunched as The Hub, with the "Ready Set Learn" block being replaced by "HubBub" the following Monday, with new programming and some international prgramming being imported to the United States
