Red Bull X-Fighters are freestyle motocross
(FMX) motorbike stunt competitions contested in bullring

Red Bull X-Fighters are invitation tournaments where the best FMX riders in the world come face to face. The competitions' particular flair comes on the one hand from the relatively restricted space in the bullfighting arenas (and therefore the close proximity of the crowd to the sporting spectacle) and, on the other hand, from the replication of a number of rituals from a typical "corrida": for example, the riders are greeted by drum roll

Alongside Madrid, Valencia hosted the Red Bull X-Fighters for the second time in 2003. Since 2005, the competition has also been staged in Mexico

; the biggest bullring in the world, with a capacity of 43,000. In 2008, the competition was hosted by Poland's 10th-Anniversary Stadium, and was the last event taking place there. A week after the motocross competition, it was demolished in order to allow the construction of a new site - the National Stadium, Warsaw, where a round of the Red Bull X-Fighters 2011 is set to be staged as the first event taking place at the newly built stadium. The final round of the 2009 season took place at Battersea Power Station
