Awards

Rice Middle School has won many awards such as taking its Whiz Quiz team to Whiz Quiz Nationals from 2008-2010. As well as producing many top qualifying Math Counts members and State Science Fair winners. The Music Department in Rice has been ranked near the top in state. Awards in the orchestra include being named Texas Honor Orchestra for 2009. In both years 2010-2011, the combined orchestra and band have won the Outstanding Orchestra of the Day award in the Peak Music Festival. In the years 2008-2011, it has had the most number of All-Region participants in Band, Choir, and Orchestra. In the year 2011, the Orchestra received a record-setting 30 exemplary awards to individual students in the annual Solo and Ensemble Festival.
