Richard Crowley is an Irish
journalist and broadcaster. He formerly worked as Middle East
Correspondent for RTÉ News and Current Affairs. He currently works on the This Week
radio programme and began presenting the Prime Time
television programme with Miriam O'Callaghan
from 14 January 2010.

television. He also presented a news feature programme called Radharc. He later moved to RTÉ Radio
where he presented Morning Ireland
for six years, and the RTÉ News at One

He returned to RTÉ TV News in 2001, as the Middle East
correspondent. He was posted to Israel
during the 2003 invasion of Iraq
, and was enrolled in a training course in how to deal with threats of nuclear, biological and chemical warfare. During that time, he reported on events such as the Lebanon crisis
. He also presented the news and current affairs programme, One to One, where he interviewed guests such as Colm Tóibín

Crowley left RTÉ for a year in 2008 with his colleague Aoife Kavanagh.
His book, No Man's Land, was published in October 2007. It describes his experience as a correspondent in Palestine
and Israel
from 2001. In 2009, he began presenting a new television series on RTÉ about Irish business and finance, called The Smart Money. From June 2009, he presented and edited This Week
on RTÉ Radio 1
. It was announced in early January 2010 that he would co-present the current affairs television programme, Prime Time
. Crowley presents the programme once a week, unlike his predecessor, Mark Little
, who presented twice a week.
