During his college years, Farrer also played for the Albuquerque Gunners of USISL. In the fall of 1990, the Gunners became the New Mexico Roadrunners before changing their name to the New Mexico Chiles

 degree in 2005. During his years in law school, he was an editor of the school’s law review. He then served for one year as a law clerk for the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. In September 2006, he became an associate with Weil Gotschal & Manges, moving to Yetter Coleman LLP, in Austin, Texas in April 2007.
