Ridinghouse is a company committed to publishing primary documents, art historical research, first monographs, anthologies of interviews and writings and editions. Established in 1995 by Karsten Schubert
and Thomas Dane, the organisation has been rapidly expanding since 2004 and it currently produces 8-10 publications a year. Several themes run through Ridinghouse’s books, including anthologies of writings on and conversations with artists, such as Talking Art: Interviews with Artists Since 1976 [2007], edited by Patricia Bickers and ch-ch-ch-changes: artists talk about teaching [2009], interviews by John Reardon. Books that examine the relationship between art and law including The Trials of Art [2007] , an anthology of essays by art historians and lawyers, edited by Daniel McClean, and Dear Images: Art, Copyright and Culture, edited by Karsten Schubert and Daniel McClean. Ridinghouse also publishes PhDs on art historical themes that have been neglected such as Unconcealed, The International Network of Conceptual Artists 1967-77: Dealers Exhibitions and Public Collections by Sophie Richard [2009] and Fault Lines: Art in Germany 1945-55 by John-Paul Stonard [2007], as well as first monographs including Bob Law
