The European League is an annual roller hockey (quad)
club competition organized by CERH (Comité Européen de Rink-Hockey) with the most successful teams of Europe
. It is the most prestigious club competition in this sport. Since its foundation in 1965 under the name of the European Cup, mostly Spanish (among which mainly the clubs in Catalonia and Galicia), Italian and Portuguese, the Catalan
teams have dominated the competition. In 1997, the European Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup merged as the Champions League.

Format
Nowadays, the competition is composed by a qualifying round and then a 1st round. Then, 16 teams are placed into 4 groups and the two first classified of each group play a final-eight playoff in an European city.Winners
