St Andrew's parish church dates from the thirteenth and fourteenth century, though the tower dates from a century later. The incumbent is The Revd Graham Williams. The Parish is part of the Ringstone in Aveland group of parishes. In the church yard was located a (rare for Britain) weeping ash (Fraxinus excelsior 'Pendula') for a century until 2002; having died it was felled.
The village pub is called The Bull Inn. A railway station
on a line between Bourne and Sleaford
opened in 1871 for goods and closed in 1964; regular passenger services lasted from 1872 to 1930. The Church of England Primary School closed in July 2007, and the post office around the same time.
Rippingale falls within the drainage area of the Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board

South of the village is the site of Ringstone, a Lost village
, which dates back to before the conquest and which survived into the 19th century as Ringstone Hall
. In February 2000 the Village Design Statement Committee was set up to produce a 'Village Design Statement' (VDS) for Rippingale, and get it adopted as supplementary planning guidance by South Kesteven District Council (SKDC).
In February 2002 the VDS was adopted, and the Village Design Statement Committee was reborn as the Village Design Committee (VDC), its main purpose being to Monitor planning applications to ensure that new developments adhered to the guidelines set out in the VDS.
The VDC website was set up in October 2010 to act as a focal point / portal for the villagers of Rippingale to see what the VDC is doing, and to pass their comments and views directly to the VDC, initially by email.
