Rob Reid won the Jerry Anderson Marathon in Kalispel Montana in 1979, and Calgary Marathon in 1980, 1981, 1982 and 1984.

Rob is the race coordinator of the following Greater Victoria charity running events: the Michael Dunahee Run and the St Patrick’s Run for Big Brothers and Sisters. Rob has been a volunteer board member of the Royal Victoria Marathon

Rob Reid founded of the Runners of Compassion Society in 1998, to raise funds for local charities and international causes. A Nanaimo Chapter of the Runners of Compassion was started in 2003. A central program of Runners of Compassion is the Shoes For Youth Program which has provided sports shoes to hundreds of children in Southern Vancouver Island

Rob is the Chairperson for the www.creatinghomefulnesssociety.org which has purchased a 192 acre (0.77699712 km²) farm - Woodwynn Farms.
Rob assists with the coordination of "Every Step Counts" a run walk program out of CoolAid sponsored by The Victoria Foundation and The Telus Community Board.
Rob lives with his wife Joan, children Nathan and Keegan in Victoria and at Run Away Acres on Salt Spring Island.
Rob also has a daughter Braden and eldest son Jeremy who currently live in Calgary, Alberta.

Entrepreneurship

Rob started Frontrunners Victoria Ltd. in 1988. He is a co-owner of Frontrunners Nanaimo and Frontrunners Langford which opened in 2000 and 2005 respectively. Rob subsequently opened the New Balance store (2003) and the Bella store (2006). Rob has received the following business awards:
