The tenants took their concerns to the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal where conciliation efforts failed. Forsyth described the case as a "small problem". Distinguishing his activities as a landlord from that of himself as Bishop, Forsyth said the case had nothing to do with his position as Bishop of South Sydney.
