From solid European performances at a young age and a number one ranking in the UK - achieved through many victories - Robert Young signed with Amore & Vita-Giubileo 2000-Beretta before heading to ProTeam Milram. During his time at Amore & Vita-Giubileo Robert Young had to juggle his contract with both Army life and as a Pro Triathlete. During his Military career Robert stopped competing (after European Bronze medal Win) all together due to discrepancies with the Army over full time training, but returned to competing soon after
The year of 1999 was to be the first introduction to a full European programme. Robert Young has won Individual victories in Pro Tour Races (including back to back titles at the World Long Course Championships. ) and is an extremly hard fighting Lead out man giving victories to some of the worlds best.
