Rod Hamilton

Rodney W. "Rod" Hamilton (born March 1968) is a Minnesota
politician and a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives
representing District 22B, which includes all or portions of Cottonwood
, Jackson
and Nobles
counties in the southwestern part of the state. A Republican
, he is also a local pork producer.
Hamilton was first elected to the House in 2004, and was re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2010. He is currently a member of the House's Agriculture, Rural Economies and Veterans Affairs Committee, on which he is the ranking minority party member, and the Ways and Means Committee. He is vice chair of the Finance Subcommittee for the Agriculture, Rural Economies and Veterans Affairs Finance Division, and also serves on the Finance subcommittees for the Early Childhood Finance and Policy Division and the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division. He was a minority whip during the 2009 legislative session, and was an assistant minority leader
during the 2010 session.
On November 17, 2010, incoming Republican Speaker of the House Kurt Zellers
announced that Hamilton will serve as chairman of the House Agriculture Committee during the 2011-2012 biennium. On November 30, 2010, he was named incoming majority whip by his House Republican colleagues.
Hamilton graduated from Humboldt High School in Humboldt, Iowa. He is a former president of the Minnesota Pork Producers.
