In August 2009, the Mexican prospect and knock out artist Medina won by first round K.O. over veteran boxer Humberto Corral in Sonora, Mexico.

He was the Headliner on a Azteca América Boxing card, beating Demetrius Davis by a 10rd. unanimous decision. In that fight Rogelio suffered two fractures in his hand right hand, the injury kept him inactive until his technical knockout win against the veteran Luis Castro.
