Unlike most similar "pocket" pistols, the Rohrbaugh has no manual safety, locking slide, or magazine disconnect (the weapon can be fired with no magazine inserted). However it is also tightly machined for close tolerances with no sharp exterior edges or protrusions.

Variants

Besides the basic R9 model, which has no sights, there is also a sighted R9s variant. In addition, there are Stealth versions of both the R9 and R9s that have a blued slide instead of the standard stainless steel

slide. The R9 and all of its variants are available with black or gray frames. All variants of the R9 have a 'European-style' magazine release at the base of the grip.
