Rolf Trolle Andersen is a Norwegian diplomat and royal servant.
He was born in Oslo
as a son of diplomat Rolf Andersen
and maternal grandson of Danish polar explorer Alf Trolle. He is a cand.jur. by education, and started working for the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs
in 1971.
In 1979 he was hired as an embassy secretary in Greece
. In the 1980s he was an adviser in polar affairs, and he travelled to and reached the South Pole
in 1985. He served as the Norwegian ambassador to Romania
from 1990 to 1994, and then as the Middle East Coordinator in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1994. In 1997 he was succeeded by Mona Juul
