Challenge and International Ice Hockey Federation World Under-18 Championship. In the 4 IIHF U-18 Championships that he his teams have competed in, they have brought home 3 golds and a silver medal.
In June 2008, he was named head coach of the American team at the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships
. He has also coached the American team at multiple IIHF World U18 Championships

In July 2011, he was hired by the Buffalo Sabres
