The name Rondinella comes from the Italian word rondine (swallow), and their logo represents this. The team plays at Stadio Bozzi-Due Strade in Florence.
Rondinella, the historical second team in Florence, had also a glorious past, playing for several years in Serie C
; in particular, its last stint in Serie C1 was in 1986, and the last appearance in Serie C2 in 2002. However, the club experienced a quick decline in recent years, relegating to Serie D
in 2002, to Eccellenza
in 2006, and Promozione
in 2007. During the 2009–10 season the club changed its denomination to the current one.
