Origin
The oldest part of Rotterdam-Noord which is designed as a residential area of Rotterdam, is Oude Noorden. It was built around 1870. The area Oude Noorden, belonged in the nineteenth century to the manor Blommersdijk. It is a typical residential area which was destined for the crowded inner city to relieve.
