Roy Helton was my grandfather. He died in 1977 in Nebraska. He was born in Washington DC, but spent most of his life in the greater Philadelphia PA area. He was married to Anna Friend Watson and they had 2 sons, Robert and Frank. He taught at Friends Central School, and worked for the Pennsylvania State Planning Commission. He wrote a number of books of fiction, poetry and one book of non-fiction, "Sold Out to the Future". He also wrote extensively for Atlantic Monthly magazine.
