History
The airline was established in 2000 and planned to start services in 2001, but did not. In October 2003, Asia Aircraft Services from Malaysia, opted to buy the airline and use its operating permit to launch services. Royal Khmer is trying to rebuild its business after more than a year out of action. In March 2006 it came under criticism from the South Korean Ministry of Construction and Transportation for substandard safety measures, including nine lights indicating emergency exits on planes that were inoperative, flights not carrying updated guidebooks for air routes and planes loaded engine oil together with passengers baggage without proper safety measures. One of their 727s is reported to have been abandoned at Hanoi Airport in late 2007. No one from Royal Khmer has come forward to claim the plane and the Vietnamese authorities may be forced to send it for scrap.Destinations
