On 2 January 2009 a new episode called "Rude Tube 2009" was broadcast, with Alex Zane returning as host. It purported to feature the top 50 viral video clips on the web rated by number of views in 2008.
"Rude Tube 2009" gained 3.8 million viewers with an audience share of 58% of 16-35 year olds.
Rude Tube III featured 3 new 60 minute episodes that were shown on Channel 4 from 9–23 October 2009 which included Heroes and Villains, Weird and Wonderful and Superstars of the Web.
Rude Tube 2010 showed 100 of the best viral videos up to 2010 when it was aired on 2 January 2010 and was the first 2 hour episode.
Rude Tube IV started on Wednesday October 6, 2010 on Channel 4 and ran for 6 episodes.
Rude Tube 2011 was another 2 hour special which aired on 7 January 2011. It showed 100 clips which were a combination of 50 highlights from Rude Tube IV and 50 new clips.
A fifth season is in production for airing on CH4 in the fall of 2011, and another 2 hour special for New Year 2012.
2011 will see the release of a number of iTunes exclusive series and an iPhone App.
A Best of Rube Tube DVD, presented by Alex Zane, will be released by Acorn Media UK
