Rungsted is a neighborhood in the city of Hørsholm
in the Hørsholm Municipality of Øresund, north of Copenhagen

. The center of Hørsholm is located two kilometers west of Rungsted. At the Sound coast is Rungsted Harbour, a marina.
Author Johannes Ewald
lived from March 1773 to autumn 1775 at the then Rungsted Inn, where he had some of his most productive years and wrote Rungsteds Lyksaligheder - En Ode. The inn moved in 1803, and the buildings were renamed Rungstedlund
. In 1931 when Karen Blixen
returned to Denmark from Africa, she moved into Rungstedlund (which her father Wilhelm had acquired in 1879), and lived there until her death in 1962 .
