Encyclopedia
Russell Peters: Red, White, and Brown is a stand-up comedy album by Russell Peters
, filmed at the WAMU Theatre in Madison Square Garden
on February 2, 2008. It was released in Canada in September 2008 and in the US on January 2009. Peters will also have a television special by the same name.
The DVD will include two hours of bonus features such as deleted content and commentaries. One of the extras is titled "White Jacket Bootleg" which features Russell's brother, Clayton Peter, as well as director Jigar Talati which further reflects the comedy style of Russell Peters.
Russell Peters Red, White, and Brown continues to have the theme of targeting racial stereotypes in a comedic fashion. Like prior albums, Russell Peters also imitates various accents for a greater comedic effect. He also uses impromptu to engage his audience and to improve the quality of his performance. One large difference in this show however, is that this album involves comedy on Russell Peters' self-reflection on his trip to India. Peters describes how he went on the plane with Indian pride but "turned Canadian" as soon as he stepped off the plane. This further leads to more observations regarding race and culture.
