educator and academic.
Robins served as Headteacher of the Jews' Free School
(JFS) for 14 years, ending on 31 December 2007. Under her tenure the JFS became one of the top-performing schools in both its own borough and the UK as a whole.
Jews' Free School, Britain's oldest Jewish institution, was founded for orphans in 1732, is Europe's largest school of its kind, taking in 300 new pupils each year for an orthodox Jewish education. In 2002 the school moved into new campus in Kenton
(north-west London), which were opened by then-Prime Minister, Tony Blair
. JFS has been singled out in the past by Ofsted as an "outstanding school" and in terms of its results is one of the best-performing comprehensives in the country. It was named a beacon school.
Coinciding with Robins' retirement was the JFS' 275th anniversary.
